UK Government Unveils Casino Modernization
On May 12, 2025, the UK Government published key Statutory Instruments, setting July 22, 2025, as the effective date for land-based casino reforms in England and Wales. These reforms are designed to modernize the industry, allowing casinos to expand their offerings and enhance the customer experience.

Rank Group’s Strategic Expansion

- Immediate Plans: Rank plans to add 882 new gaming machines to its Grosvenor estate, which currently houses 1,367 machines.
- Long-Term Vision: Over the next two to three years, Rank aims to grow its total machine estate to 3,112, with investments rolling out as licensing applications are completed.
- Scottish Engagement: The Rank Group also intends to engage with Scottish government officials to ensure similar reforms are extended to its casinos in Scotland as soon as possible.
